Pres. Rodrigo Duterte made a state visit in China last October 2016. Sen. De Lima make an effort for the immediate investigation on the senate for the investment projects worth billions of dollars signed by Pres. Duterte during his state visit in China.
The lady senator have filed Senate resolution no. 222 to senate to investigate the investment deals totalling to 17 numbers for the compliance of the constitutional provision that requiring ful public disclosure of all transactions concerning public interest.
De Lima added that "It has been our nation’s unfortunate and oft-repeated experience that questionable contracts are only discovered after public funds have already been expended, and the public interest has already been compromised".
