It was the happiness of the OFW abroad by sending Balikbayan boxes to their family and relatives in the Philippines. The senate passed a law for the higher tax exemptions of the Ofw to Php 150,000 worth of goods "pasalubong" as the new law prescribed.
Pursuant to the Bureau of Customs "Customs Modernization tariff Act" the balikbayan box that will arrived and have arrived in the Philippines must be covered by worth Php 150,000 duty and tax free ceilings for the balikbayan boxes sent by the modern day hero.
Sen . Ralph Recto added that"The law has long been passed and OFWs should benefit from it" and holiday seasons are near OFW around the globe starting to send their balikbayan boxes to their families and relatives and they must benefits from the laws and it is already effective as early of September.
The effectiveness of the law pertaining to the tax exemption and duty free for the balikbayan boxes of the ofw must be done soon as the holiday season is near and many OFW are now sending their Balikbayan boxes to the Philippines.
